We're coming for the 2nd year of our walking class ~ SocaSavannah! Starting in April, we'll walk at great locations in Brooklyn - such as Eastern Parkway, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge - for several weeks . This jouvert-style class uses low-med impact, choreographed moves to the sweet soca music to help you lose weight and feel great in the fresh air.

Raise money for a great cause and motivate yourself to walk even more by joining the Socamotion AIDS Walk Team. We will train for the 7 mile walk on May 20th in Central Park during our SocaSavannah class. Encourage family and friends to pledge donations according to steps/miles logged on your free pedometer. Let's beat last year's fundraising total!

The Caribbean Womens Health Association, founded in 1982, is an advocacy and service provider in the community for 20 years. Socamotion will be there along with other sponsors and participants as 100 girls participate in a variety of workshops and activities aimed at empowerment and mentorship.
"Who Runs the World? Girls!" is a community event aimed at introducing girls to the resources available to them and encouraging healthy habits and lifestyles. The day of activities will culminate with keynote address by Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
Notes about registration:
~ This event is free
~ Adolescent girls, ages 10-19 years old, are invited to register
~ Registration is limited to 100 girls and will close on Friday, April 27, 2012.
~ Participants are encouraged to register early, as space is extremely limited.
